Our sessions
At Analu Nua, we introduce you to two different services: hyperbaric oxygen (HBOT) and hydrogen inhalation.
We explain how each session works, discuss your questions, and help you understand what to consider before deciding whether to begin.

Hyperbaric oxygen
In a hyperbaric oxygen (HBOT) session, you lie down in a hyperbaric chamber and breathe oxygen through a mask while the air pressure is gradually raised above normal atmospheric pressure.
It is quiet time to lie back and rest. If you are recovering from an injury or surgery, speak to your doctor first and let us know.
Interest in HBOT is growing among people looking after their wellbeing.
A session usually lasts between 60 and 90 minutes, and always less than two hours. We will confirm how much time to allow for your full visit, including preparation.
We discuss your health history, medications and any concerns, explain the equipment, and go through the preparation requirements with you.
Tell us if enclosed spaces make you uneasy. Understanding the chamber and how to communicate during the session is part of getting ready.

Our sessions are for wellness and relaxation. They are not a medical treatment and do not offer the outcomes of hospital-based HBOT.
Your HBOT session
Tell us what brings you to Analu Nua. We discuss your questions, review relevant health information, and explain the session before you decide whether to go ahead.
We introduce you to the chamber, show you how to communicate with us, and answer your questions. You then lie down comfortably inside, the oxygen supply begins through a mask, and the chamber is sealed.
The chamber is pressurised gradually above normal atmospheric pressure, 1.0 ATA (atmosphere absolute), the pressure at sea level. Hospital HBOT usually uses higher pressures; our chamber never exceeds 1.9 ATA. You may notice a feeling of fullness in your ears as the pressure changes. Let us know about any discomfort so it can be addressed.
Your session at Analu Nua will usually last between 60 and 90 minutes.
When the session is over, the chamber is gradually depressurised and opened, and you can step out. We check how you are feeling and offer you a large glass of filtered water.
Molecular hydrogen
Hydrogen inhalation involves breathing hydrogen gas (H₂) in a seated session: you sit back, breathe and relax.
Research into molecular hydrogen is still developing. At Analu Nua, the starting point is understanding the session, its limitations, and whether it is appropriate for you.
Molecular hydrogen (H₂) is the lightest gas there is. It is colourless and has no taste.
Scientists are studying hydrogen inhalation for a range of possible applications. These studies do not tell us what a session will do for you.
A hydrogen session at Analu Nua is for wellness and relaxation, as part of a healthy lifestyle. It is not a medical treatment.
No result is promised. If you have a health concern, speak to your doctor before a session.
Hydrogen has no smell. It is inhaled, like oxygen, through a nasal cannula while you sit back and relax. The session is non-invasive and takes place at normal room pressure, without a hyperbaric chamber. Let us know if anything feels uncomfortable.
A session lasts approximately 45 minutes. We will confirm the time to allow for your first visit.
Discuss your health history, medications and questions with us. We will explain the equipment and preparation requirements before a session is arranged.

About Analu Nua
Analu Nua offers hyperbaric oxygen (HBOT) and hydrogen inhalation sessions in Cavan, Ireland. Our approach begins with making the experience understandable: what each session involves, what to consider, and what happens next.
Whether you arrive with a specific question or are simply curious, there is space to talk before making a decision. Clear information and an unhurried conversation are at the heart of the experience we aim to offer.

The Analu Nua approach
Know what happens, how long it takes, and what you need to consider before you begin.
Talk about your expectations and concerns, including anything that might affect your comfort.
Discuss the options and costs before choosing whether to book a session.
Your questions
HBOT sessions usually last between 60 and 90 minutes, and always less than two hours. Hydrogen inhalation sessions last approximately 45 minutes. Your first visit may need additional time for a discussion and preparation. We will confirm the full appointment time with you.
As with any wellness session, there is always some level of risk. HBOT is not completely without risk.
The main hazards presented are to people with specific health problems, such as pneumothorax (collapsed lung) or any ear trouble, such as middle or outer ear infections.
Your safety is paramount, and a risk assessment is carried out accordingly before your first session, with all risks being discussed with you before you sign your consent form.
Fatigue and light-headedness are possible. Less often, more serious problems can occur.
The risk of side effects is lower when:
Our sessions always last less than two hours, and our chamber never exceeds 1.9 ATA, well within both limits. This lowers the risk but does not remove it, so we review your health information before your first session. Tell us straight away about any discomfort during a session.
In studies, hydrogen at low, controlled concentrations has generally been well tolerated. Some people report dizziness, drowsiness or headaches. Tell us straight away if you feel unwell during a session.
Hydrogen gas becomes flammable at higher concentrations, so it should only be delivered by equipment designed for the purpose.
Speak to your doctor before a session, and tell us, if you:
Hydrogen inhalation is not a replacement for medical treatment. Do not stop or change prescribed medication without speaking to your doctor.
As chamber pressure changes, you may feel fullness in your ears, similar to the sensation during a flight. We explain what to expect before the session. Tell us promptly if you feel discomfort or cannot equalise your ears.
Tell us before arranging a session. We can discuss the chamber, communication during a session and your concerns. There is no need to make a decision before you have that information.
Ask for the preparation instructions for your chosen session. Clothing, personal products and items permitted near or inside equipment depend on its safety requirements. Follow the guidance provided before your visit.
Our sessions are for wellness and relaxation: time to lie back or sit back, breathe and unwind. No result is promised, and a session is not a medical treatment. If you are considering either service because of a health concern, speak to your doctor first.
Ask us about the introductory options currently available. We will explain eligibility, what is included and any cost before you decide.
